LG G7+ ThinQ Full Phone Specifications and Honest Opinions

The South Korean giant LG competes neck to neck with the top tier manufactures when it comes to Flagship smartphones. The only thing that lets them down in India is their high pricing. After the LG V30+ that came last year, the company has now launched the LG G7+ ThinQ in the country and has surprised everyone with the pricing it bears.

The LG G7+ ThinQ was announced back in May at the US, as a successor to the last year’s LG G6+. Only the top-end 6/128GB variant has made it to India at an unbelievable price of just Rs. 39,999. It will be sold exclusively on Flipkart starting from August 10 during the Big Freedom Sale, along with few cashback offers.

The G7+ branding is due to the fact that there is a base variant too, named as G7 ThinQ with 4/64GB configuration. Whereas, the ThinQ branding denotes the implementation of AI in the phone, similar to the LG V30+ ThinQ that was unveiled earlier at MWC 2018.

LG, as usual, has focussed on everything, ranging from performance and build quality to photography and media experience with this LG G7+ ThinQ.

Let us look at some of the LG G7+ ThinQ Features and Specifications.

LG G7+ ThinQ Features:

Following the current flagship trend, the G7+ ThinQ sports a metal frame and a glass back design along with a Notched display. It’s really durable given that its based on MIL-STD 810G standards along with an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance.

It comes with 6.1-inch FullView IPS LCD display with a resolution of Quad HD+ (3120×1440) in an aspect ratio of 19.5:9, maintaining an impressive pixel density of 564ppi.

LG markets the display as “Super Bright Display” because it packs a maximum brightness of whopping 1000nits. Furthermore, it supports HDR10 along with 100 per cent DCI-P3 colour gamut coverage and is claimed to be 30% more power efficient than the one found on G6+.

Under the hold, the LG G7+ ThinQ is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC, coupled with 6GB of DDR4X RAM and 128GB of UFS 2.1 Storage, resulting in flawless performance and smooth multi-tasking.

For Photography, the device packs a dual camera set up at the back, featuring a 16-megapixel primary sensor with a f/1.6 aperture lens and a 71-degree field of view, stacked with another 16-megapixel secondary shooter that has a f/1.9 aperture and a 107-degree wide angle lens.

For selfies, the device gets a wide angle 8-megapixel shooter at the front, with the lens having an aperture of f/1.9. The Camera app is equipped with the AI Cam feature for smart scene detection, bokeh, Live Photo mode, and an automatic “Super Bright Camera” mode for brighter light photos.

For unlocking the phone, we have a fingerprint scanner at the back along with the option of Face Unlock. The phone also has a dedicated button to trigger Google Assistant.

For audiophiles, the LG G7+ ThinQ comes with 7.1-channel DTS:3D Surround Sound support. The Boombox speaker helps in amplification of the bass and a Hi-Fi Quad DAC is present as well.

On the software front, the phone runs on LG UX 6.0 skin on top of Android 8.0 Oreo. It draws its juice from a mediocre 3,000 mAh battery that supports Qualcomm QuickCharge 4.0 for fast charging. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, FM- Radio, GPS, and a USB Type-C port.
